The home screen has been replaced with a far more powerful dashboard space that will provide meaningful insights for users into the day to day activity across your Loc8 system, starting with helpful pods that provide an operational overview of your customers, workforce, and financial activity from quotes through to invoices.

In addition, if you choose to purchase the dashboards addon the home screen can be upgraded to a full blown dashboard solution including multiple configurable dashboards that support custom layouts and the ability to add your own pods that are driven by the workspace views that you control. The options are virtually limitless.

Each major workspace now includes colours alongside the system views to make it easier to find what you're looking for, with colours predominantly based on the statuses in each workspace.

In addition, these colours are now also displayed in the job calendar for a more consistent experience across the app.

The Weekly and Work week modes now display time on the horizontal axis, with the vertical axis being used to group appointments by assignee. This layout mirrors that of the Daily view and provides a more consistent experience when moving between Daily, Weekly and Monthly modes.

With the improved layout in the Weekly and Work week modes, appointments that fall outside of business hours are now always visible as well, helping to avoid missed appointments.

In addition, the colours of appointments in the calendar are now always based on job statuses rather than assignment, which was made possible by ensuring assignment is always visible in the Daily and Weekly modes.

Email sending has been improved to minimise the amount of email that goes to spam

For customers on our Core or Professional plans email sent out of Loc8 will now be sent using a unique email address that is automatically created with your Loc8 account as opposed to being sent using your company email address

For customers on our Enterprise plan there is no immediate change in behaviour however our customer success team will be in touch with you to transition you over to the new solution

As many of our users will be aware, Adobe will discontinue support of Flash Player on the 31st of December 2020, and will subsequently block all use on the 12th of January 2021 (Read more from Adobe). To prepare for this we have been actively replacing the remaining areas of Loc8 that run on Flash for the last 18 months, and are well on track for a full cut over to HTML before the End-of-Life date on the 31st. We've just updated Loc8 with new and improved features, including:

• Many small UI tweaks have been rolled out across the app to improve usability on tablet devices
• It is now possible to refresh Loc8 using the browser (i.e. Chrome) refresh button whilst retaining currently selected workspace, views, filters and so on
• When you edit a field, for example Alternate contact on a job, the listed contacts are filtered to only show those relevant to the job you are editing
• When managing your workspace views, you can now filter out those that are yours and those that are shared with you. In addition, for shared views, you can also see the name of the owner
• 12+ usability improvements throughout the app
• 17+ bug fixes and other minor improvements

Subscription addons, lab features and enterprise solutions are now visible via the Usage and Billing settings area, as well as from the main navigation menu.

For customers on our Professional plan addons can be managed and enabled on the spot and no longer require you to contact us. Most are available with a free 7 day trial.
